Bio

Ingrid’s YouTube career began on October 23, 2009, when she launched her channel with the name „Missglamorazzi“. In one video she admitted that she created her channel because she wanted to push herself to overcome her fear of public speaking and gain more confidence. On November 8, 2009, she uploaded her first video titled „How to: Flawless Red Lips“.

Since she got pretty good feedback from her audience, she continued posting videos on similar topics, such as makeup tutorials, reviews of cosmetics products, DIY and Q&A videos, lifestyle and fashion tips e.t.c.

In June 2010, she launched the other channel entitled „The Grid Monster“ on which she posts her vlogs.

A turning point in her career came in mid-2014 when she began collaborating with the „CoverGirl“, a famous cosmetics brand. Ingrid become the first YouTuber to represent the brand. A few months later she became a judge on the TV show „Project Runway: Threads“. She won the 2014 and 2015 Teen Choice Awards and was nominated for Choice Web Star: Fashion/Beauty. In 2015 she was nominated for the Streamy Awards in category „Best Beauty Program“.

2016 was also very successful for young YouTube stars. She interviewed Barack Obama, former president of the USA in a live stream hosted at the White House. Two months later Ingrid was named one of the United Nations Change Ambassadors. She also participated in many activities and campaigns for helping those who need it most.

She was a major voice in the short film „We the Voters“ made during the presidential elections in 2016 in which she educated the American citizens regarding the importance of voting.

In February 2017, she started collaboration whit the cosmetics brand „Shiseido“, and she became the face of the brand`s two best selling foundations.

Ingrid Nilsen was born in Los Angeles, California. Her father was of Norwegian origin, and her mother is from Thailand. When she was in her teens her father died, so family faced financial difficulties. Her mother had to work day and night to sustain the family.

In a video posted in June 2015, she made a confession that she was a lesbian. Ingrid dated a YouTube star, Hannah Hart. They broke up in 2016. Ingrid is dating Erica Anderson, executive producer for Kara Swisher.

Nilsen is 5 ft 4 in (163 cm) tall, weighs about 123 lbs (56 kg).
